From the Editor

Perhaps more so in February than any other month, we
begin to long for the lightness that spring will bring
and in doing so our tastes may temporarily shift to
lighter colors, using lighter products and eating
lighter foods. With the heaviness of the fall and
holidays behind us, and our winter sojourn nearly
complete, we are ready to cleanse, detox, drop a few
pounds and begin keeping an eye out for spring.
Please see this month's article on Detoxifying in 2008
for some great tips. We
still have some time indoors though before the arrival
of spring and warmer weather so February is also a good
month for pursuing creative arts whether they be
writing, music, painting, or drawing, or whatever
inspires you. It is also a good time to explore
the inner you through spiritual study, psychology or
mythology. Winter's long evenings provide plenty
of time for reflection. Our article on the
Mandala Center offers a list of many upcoming workshops
designed with precisely these things in mind.
Me? I'm playing my guitar, studying for my 500
hour level yoga teacher certification, and crocheting
for the arrival of my first grandson this spring.
And as always, looking out for those southwest items and
events that will intrigue you as much as they do me.
Thanks for stopping by this month, we hope you will
enjoy the February issue of Southwest Flair!
