Celebrate Valentine's
Day in the Rockies - Evergreen, Colorado
For anyone wishing to leave a lasting memento for their
loved one on Valentine’s Day, the Highland Haven
Creekside Inn is offering two uncommonly romantic
options during February. Guests of the inn can surprise
their loved ones with engraved stepping-stones along
“Lover’s Lane,” or a custom carving on one of the inn’s
“Sweetheart Trees.”

Lover’s Lane runs down the middle of the inn’s oversized
lawn, surrounded by towering Blue Spruce trees
overlooking the crystal clear waters of Bear Creek.
Stepping-stones are engraved locally with lovers’ first
names or initials, along with a meaningful date, such as
wedding or first-date anniversaries. During February,
the stones will be priced at $60, a $20 savings.
In addition, guests can have a local artist carve
and paint their names or initials inside a large heart
in one of the inn’s 30-foot-tall Sweetheart Trees.
After obtaining input from the guest, the artist designs
a mock-up, then carves the heart and initials into the
tree, using a router and chain saw. Finally, the
keepsake is painted using a heavy-duty paint meant to
last through the Colorado seasons. Cost is
approximately $225, depending on the size and colors.
“The
Sweetheart Tree is a long-standing tradition, and each
carving represents a truly tender story,” said inn owner
Gail Riley. “We started a new tradition with the
stepping stones, so our guests can enjoy yet another way
to commemorate their stay with us.”

In addition to the inherently romantic ambiance of
the inn – with it’s lovely mountain setting, flickering
fireplaces, private hot tubs and Jacuzzis, luscious and
inviting king-sized beds and more -- guests of the inn
can enjoy custom Valentine’s Day packages that include
flowers, champagne, port and other amenities.
Riley suggests booking early for February stays,
always a popular month at the Highland Haven, which has
won numerous awards naming it most romantic inn and best
place to propose. In addition, those wishing to
surprise loved ones with stepping-stones or tree
carvings must place their orders two to three weeks in
advance.
The multi-award-winning Highland Haven was named
one of the nation’s top 10 most romantic cottages by
Sunset magazine, as well as “Best Bed and Breakfast”
by Mountain Living magazine. The inn features 17
rooms, suites and cottages, each distinctly appointed in
“Colorado chic” décor, designed for maximum comfort and
luxury. Known for its emphasis on customer service, the
Highland Haven serves a full, homemade breakfast in the
Dailey Cabin, and is situated along 400 feet of Bear
Creek near downtown Evergreen, only an hour away from
Denver International Airport. Many of owner Gail
Riley’s breakfast and other recipes are featured in her
book, Colorado Cravings, Recipes and Romance from
the Award-Winning Highland Haven Creekside Inn (www.coloradocravings.com).
For more information, call 303-674-3577 or visit the
inn’s newly designed web site,
