HOUSTON, THE EAGLE HAS LANDED
DEL FRISCO’S DOUBLE EAGLE STEAK HOUSE
OPENS IN HOUSTON - 13,000-square-foot restaurant opens its doors in the Galleria

HOUSTON 2008– The award-winning Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, known for its prime steak, luxurious décor, and Southern hospitality, opened its Houston location on November 19, 2007. The restaurant is located in the Galleria at 5061 Westheimer, Houston, 77027.

The Houston location boasts the same upscale menu items and signature elements as its sister locations in Dallas, Fort Worth, Charlotte, Orlando, Denver, Las Vegas, and New York. Every Del Frisco’s location has been recognized locally with “Best of” awards by its home city.

Del Frisco’s has been recognized nationally by receiving the Di Rona Award for Distinguished Restaurants of North America; Nation’s Restaurant News Fine Dining Hall of Fame; Restaurants and Institutions Magazine Ivy Award; and the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.

The elegant 400-plus seat showcase restaurant will occupy 13,000 square feet in the renovated Galleria complex that formerly housed Lord and Taylor.

Del Frisco’s menu offers only the finest quality and selection of meats and seafood, with prime beef as its namesake. A special section designated “Lagniappe,” tying back to the restaurant’s New Orleans origins, meaning “a little something extra”, appeals to smaller appetites with its entrees and included side order.

Customer favorites include:

Prime aged, corn-fed beef straight from the Midwest. The beef is never frozen, and the chef cuts the steak to order right off the loin when the ticket enters the kitchen. Del Frisco’s has continued to source their quality beef from the same provider for more than 20 years.
20-32 oz. Australian Cold-Water Lobster Tails
Osso Buco
Veal Chop
Fresh Salmon with Tchoupitoulas Sauce
Fresh Halibut with Citrus Vinaigrette

Del Frisco’s is known for attention to detail in its sleek décor, and the Houston location will emerge as the premiere steakhouse and “see and be seen” locale for Houstonians. Patrons will bask in the luxury of accoutrements including:

Mahogany clad interiors;
Signature, double handcrafted swirling staircases;
Hand painted custom Italian glass ceiling art and light fixtures;
Soaring 40 foot windows providing a striking view of the skylines of the Galleria and Downtown Houston;
A second-story mezzanine, accessible by elevator, with its own bar and overlooking the main floor dining area as well as the Houston skyline;
Dining vestibules in addition to tables throughout the restaurant;
Second level exclusive wine cellar dining room that seats 100; and
Private boardroom fully wired for audio and visual technology as well as a wall-mounted plasma television.

Del Frisco’s is recognized nationally for its award-winning cuisine and fine wine offerings. The restaurant will offer full-time sommeliers to assist customers in selecting the perfect bottle of wine for each meal. In addition, Del Frisco’s wine list consists of over 1,650 selections from all over the world, with over 20,000 bottles in inventory.

The restaurant’s showcase wine cellar features mahogany floor to ceiling wine walls and imported Italian stone floors and a capacity to store 15,000-20,000 wines. The private dining cellar can accommodate up to 100 guests or be transformed into two or three smaller dining areas for more intimate events.

“One of the keys to our success is the care we’ve taken when selecting a city for a new Del Frisco’s location,” said Dee Lincoln, one of Del Frisco’s founders. “Houstonians are known for their love for prime meat and seafood, and the city’s reputation for the finest restaurant cuisine, making it a perfect choice for Del Frisco’s.”

Arthur Mooradian, who serves at the helm of Del Frisco’s sister restaurant Sullivan’s Steakhouse located at 4608 Westheimer in Houston, will also serve as Del Frisco’s General Manager. Houston Del Frisco’s Executive Chef Steve Haug has recently been promoted to the position from within the organization. Prior to this position, Haug worked under the supervision of Del Frisco’s Corporate Executive Chef Thomas Dritsas and award-winning Executive Chef David Holben of the Del Frisco’s Dallas location. Del Frisco’s will ultimately employ a staff of 150.

According to GM Mooradian, “After working in this industry for more than 20 years, I have never experienced such a unique offering that blends sophistication, quality, and service with a ‘little something extra’. The attention to detail, sleek and sexy décor mixed in with the Louisiana flair is what makes Del Frisco’s an exciting place to be.”

“This isn’t ‘your good ole boy steakhouse’ by any means. Del Frisco’s will offer an opportunity for Houstonians to enjoy a premiere steakhouse – including the traditional white table cloth -- with a kick,” he added.

Del Frisco’s offers lunch and dinner service, with hours of service from 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. on Saturday; and 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on Sunday. Del Frisco’s bar will be open until 2:00 a.m. To make advance reservations for dinner or special events in the wine room, call 713-355-2600.
