January begins with the 113th Annual Southwestern
Exposition and Livestock Show. This legendary event,
held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum January 16 -
February 8, is the oldest continuously running livestock
show in the nation. The show showcases over 22,000
livestock, 3,000 equine, activities and more. Some of
the featured events include:
• Traditional ranch life comes alive at the “Best of the
West” Ranch Rodeo on January 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Other activities held during Ranching Heritage Weekend,
sponsored by Western Horseman magazine, will be two
auctions featuring horses from outstanding ranch horse
programs and a horsemanship clinic by acclaimed
instructor, Chris Cox.
• The traditions of Mexican Charros and the beauty of
folklorico dancing will be displayed in spectacular
fashion in the two performances of the “Best of Mexico
Celebración.” Coors Light and Univision sponsor two
performances – January 18 at 7:30 p.m. and January 19 at

crowns a champion each night.

held each year at the Fort Worth Stock Show. Tickets for
weekend performances – Friday evening through Sunday –
are $22, while those running Monday through Friday
matinees are $16. Performances run January 23 – February
8.
