Artist, Dustin Lyon is known for his “genteel” pieces of
art illustrating a quiet walk through a town square from
years past, a trolley ride home, a grand landscape or
solitude of a Native American encampment. A native of
Idaho, Lyon spent the majority of his life surrounded by
wildlife, horses and land rich in history, hence the
familiarity of the subjects often illustrated in his
great works. Lyon also paints recognizable landmarks,
city views and monuments throughout the United States.
Lyon has a degree in Art Advertising & Design from Ricks
College and furthered his education at Boise State
University prior to beginning his professional career as
a commercial artist in 1978 and later, painting full
time as a fine artist. Lyon has received numerous awards
including “Best of Show” at the Boys Club Art Show in
Rapid City, South Dakota, in addition to being
accredited to many nationally recognized shows and two
significant historical murals for a hotel in Scott’s
Valley, California. Dustin Lyon opened -D. LYON-ART
Gallery in January of 2005.
