CREATE
CUSTOMIZED KEEPSAKES DURING HOLIDAY ORNAMENT BRUNCH
AT LON’S DEC. 6, 2009 -
Event Benefits the
Scottsdale Artists’ School Youth Academy

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. – Guests
dining at Lon's at The Hermosa will have the
opportunity to create their own holiday ornament
keepsake during a special brunch from 10 a.m. to 2
p.m. on Dec. 6.
Instructors and students from the
Scottsdale Artists’ School Youth Academy will
hand-paint designs selected by brunch patrons. Four
themes will be available to personalize the
ornaments: a holiday/seasonal, children’s, desert
and a western theme.
The ornaments will be wrapped and
ready to go home with dining guests after they have
enjoyed award-winning cuisine by Lon’s Chef Michael
Rusconi. Orders for ornaments will be taken through
mid-December at Lon’s.
Proceeds from the one-of-a-kind
ornaments, which will sell for $30, will go towards
scholarships for children attending the Scottsdale
Artists’ School’s Youth Academy winter and summer
camps. The holiday program helps allow
less-fortunate children to attend the one-week camps
who otherwise would not be able to afford such an
experience.
The Scottsdale Artists’ School Youth
Academy is a non-profit program providing fine art
instruction for children ages six through high
school. Students learn visual art skills in drawing,
painting, ceramics and mixed media encouraging self
confidence, knowledge and enthusiasm.
Lon's welcoming and intimate
atmosphere features a ruggedly elegant dining room
with wood-beamed ceilings, vintage Western artifacts
and beehive fireplaces that accent the meandering
dining space. The charming restaurant features the
artworks of the historic inn's original owner, Lon
Megargee.
