Cooking Demonstrations with
Three-Course Dining Offered at Sassi 2009

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. --
Escape to Southern Italy and get a behind-the-scenes
look at one of the Valley's finest dining
destinations with a three-course meal and cooking
demonstration by Executive Chef Peter DeRuvo of
Sassi.
Sassi, which
specializes in cuisine inspired by the traditions of
Southern Italy, will hold "Sundays with Chef Peter
DeRuvo," a series of gourmet cooking demonstrations
that include a three-course dinner in an elegant
Italian villa.
The cooking
demonstrations are $45 per person (plus tax and
gratuity) and will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on
Dec. 6, March 14, April 18 and June 13 at Sassi.
Each guest will
experience three courses with a glass of Italian
wine and a welcome pour of sparkling Prosecco, along
with the opportunity to learn one-on-one from the
chef.
Featuring the
regional cuisine of Sicily, the Dec. 6 cooking event
menu will include antipasti of eggplant caponata,
roasted peppers agro dolce, fava bean, broccoli rabe,
and roasted beets with
balsamic
vinegar and hazelnuts; a main course of
black squid ink risotto;
and a classic Italian dessert of cannoli di casa.
Space is limited to
15 participants per event for an intimate cooking
