First Ever U.S. Fashion Show

Chinese Artist and Fashion Designer Zhao Bandi to Bring
Unprecedented Panda Fashion Show to Scottsdale Fashion Week

                                           Zhao Bandi

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Scottsdale Fashion Week has confirmed Zhao Bandi, one of the most famous and influential artists in China, will premiere his first ever U.S. panda fashion show on the Waterfront Main Runway on November 6.

Bandi uses pandas, the veritable symbol of China, to communicate a distinctive perspective of his country through incredibly creative photography, video, and performance art. Bandi’s pandas are known for portraying Chinese society in a most lively manner.

Bandi’s panda fashion show is unprecedented and one of the most fantastic works of Chinese contemporary art. No other artist has brought the whole of Chinese society, including all classes and stereotypes, to the catwalk. Audiences may feel shocked or even uncomfortable to find themselves among the characters played by Bandi’s models. Prostitutes, concubines, and corrupt officials appear on the runway to entertain and encourage the audience to ponder today’s society.

Will one of the most provocative designer artists in China bring a culture storm to the United States? See for yourself on Friday, November 6 at 8 p.m. on the Waterfront Main Runway. Tickets range from $200 for an All Evening Premium show pass to $25 for general admission.

The $200 All Evening Premium show pass includes VIP seating for five designer New York-style, tented Waterfront Main Runway shows on Friday or Saturday nights, complimentary beverages and access to the VIP Showcase. Tickets for Main Runway single shows are $60 and go on sale October 22, based on availability. The $25 general admission ticket includes access to eight SouthBridge outdoor runway shows on Friday or Saturday nights and access to surrounding video screens that will broadcast the Main Runway shows.

Tickets can be purchased at the Scottsdale Fashion Week web site, www.scottsdalefashionweek.com and from the 2009 Scottsdale Fashion Week charity partners – Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Childhelp, and Cystic Fibrosis.

In total the Scottsdale Waterfront and SouthBridge will host over two-dozen runway shows. The Main Runway will showcase leading fashion designers and will be located at the Scottsdale Waterfront on Marshall Way south of Camelback Road. The outdoor SouthBridge Runway will feature up-and-coming designers and will be located across the Arizona Canal.
