Supporting Southwest Center for HIV/Aids
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Sassi will be donating 25 percent
of its dinner sales on Thursday, April 29, to help raise
$200,000 for local HIV and AIDS services and programs
during the 2010 "Dining Out For Life."
This one-day culinary event encourages restaurants and
other businesses statewide to donate a portion of their
proceeds to benefit programs and services provided by
Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS including clinical trials,
and prevention and wellness programs for teens, men and
women.
More than 140 Valley restaurants will help raise monies
for local HIV and AIDS services and programs.
"We are honored to be involved in such a worthy cause
for our community and Sassi is dedicated to supporting
the Valley's charitable programs,” said Stephen
Plunkett, general manager of Sassi.
Across the United States, 3,500 restaurants in more than
55 cities will donate a generous percentage of proceeds
to an AIDS service provider. Money raised in each city
stays within that city for local programs. Last year,
Arizona ranked No. 1 internationally with more than
3,000 diners participating in the culinary event.
Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS is Arizona’s oldest and
largest nonprofit AIDS service organization providing a
combination of prevention, research and wellness support
to serve Arizona’s nearly 13,000 residents infected with
HIV/AIDS who live in the metro-Phoenix area.
