Greetings from the Southwest!
My goodness but April got here fast! Spring is
very busy here in the southwest!
In fashion this month I
am pleased to announce that we have a feature on the
designs of Patricia Michaels, internationally acclaimed
designer from Taos. Her work is stunning,
captivating and contemporary, exhibiting the true
caring of and closeness to the Earth found in her
ancestral home and culture.
As always, we have a
featured designer from Arizona, and a peek in the closet
from a woman in North Carolina who took our Southwest
Challenge to create a southwest look with what she
had in her closet. She did a great job and it's a
lot of fun for those who live elsewhere having limited
resources.
There are new handbags,
wallets and scarves being introduced by Stefan Mann for
the artist Laurel Burch, fashion shows in Santa Fe and
Albuquerque and some great tips on shopping in Austin.
They've sold me, I'm ready to go: short dresses and
cowboy boots. I'll fit right in!
Lots going on in the
realm of cuisine this month! The 32nd Annual
Scottsdale Culinary Festival, The Texas Wine and Food
Festival, Easter buffets, Dining Out for Life, and the
new Tuscany at JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort, it
sounds wonderful! And we can get a carrot facial
while we're there! Also a bit on choosing the
right foundation for you.
Traveling, we just
returned from a road trip all across southern New Mexico
and you can read the report on that as well as articles
on The Gathering of Nations Pow-wow coming up and also
on the White Sands International Film festival.
And many other artists and art-ful events around the
southwest.
The Yoga Zone will
feature a piece by Albuquerque's YogaEveryDay owner,
Christine Stump, on the art of balance and we all need
that!
It's a big issue and I hope you enjoy it!
