New Tuscany at JW Marriott Desert
Ridge Resort Provides Personal Culinary Adventure

PHOENIX (2010)-- Inspired by the comfort and genuine cuisine
of a traditional Italian country home, the new Tuscany
at JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa features
handcrafted pastas and specialty pizzas in an inviting,
warm atmosphere.
Guests of any age, whether for pleasure or business,
dining solo or with family will enjoy the comforts of
Tuscany and taking a journey of Italian cuisine
comprised of small plates, generous sharing dishes or
individual entrees.
The concept of Tuscany incorporates the freshest
ingredients from local farmers such as McClendon, Seacat
and Crow's Dairy, and the restaurant’s own organic herb
garden celebrating the regional cuisine of Italy with
authentic flavors.
"Let us create your menu or "creare" to your taste for a
personal and memorable dining voyage featuring
traditional Italian dishes with seasonal garden-fresh
ingredients," said Gisela Mediavilla, general manager of
Tuscany.
The journey begins with a pre-dinner spread featuring an
antipasti bar of cured meats and cheese including
hand-pulled mozzarella with gourmet spreads on grilled
ciabatta.
Distinctive small plates have been created for
spontaneous dining such as Blue Hill Bay mussels,
polenta with wild mushrooms and eggplant parmigiano.
Sumptuous soups include a Tuscan white bean soup and
Farmers Basket soup boasting a daily selection of
locally-fresh vegetables.

Delectable hand-crafted pastas include twisted pasta
with bolognese sauce, ricotta ravioli, and gnocchi with
Dungeness crab in a choice of small or large dish
offerings.
Rotisserie and grill entrees include bistecca, a Tuscan
Steak; free-range chicken with braised garden kale; and
pan-roasted Asian seabass.

Succulent specialty wood-fired pizzas feature the
Toscana signature pizza with salami, mozzarella and
caramelized onions; quattro formaggio, and the classic
margherita pizza.
Saving room for dessert is a must with sweet selections
from the resort's National Pastry Champions like ooey
gooey pizzookies in three rich chocolate flavors,
cannoli and tiramisu.

An open kitchen
with a walnut wood-burning oven provides the
smells and sounds of homemade Italian cuisine.
“At Tuscany, it’s all about satisfying the
senses with a new spin on old favorites and
enjoying in a relaxing environment,” Mediavilla
said. |
