Scottsdale Fashion Week 2010 Begins
Its Search for the Next Up and Coming Designer
Winner’s collection to open the Main Stage Runway

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Scottsdale Fashion Week (www.scottsdalefashionweek.com),
Arizona’s ultimate fashion celebration, announces the
search for the 2010 Designer of the Year. Designers who
are looking for a chance to launch their career at
Scottsdale Fashion Week’s highly publicized event are
encouraged to apply.
The winning designer will be selected by a panel of
industry judges and featured as the opening show on
Friday, November 5, 2010 on the Main Stage tent, which
includes an 80-foot runway and 500 V.I.P seats. Sharing
the main stage with the winner will be such famed
Hollywood designers as Kevan Hall and Lloyd Klein.
All submissions need to be entered electronically on
www.scottsdalefashionweek.com by August 27, 2010.
Finalists will be announced the following month and will
compete in the Designer of the Year Show at the
Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) on Oct. 8,
2010. Official competition rules will also be available
online through the website.
Designers interested in entering must submit four photos
and/or sketches of items from their upcoming Spring 2011
line and three photos of their favorite designs from
previous years. Each photo or sketch may include a
maximum of a 50-word caption describing the design.

Scottsdale Fashion Week 2010 will take place Nov. 4 – 6
at the Scottsdale Fashion Square Drive (North of
Barneys). The Saturday evening line-up will be brought
to attendees by Scottsdale Fashion Square. Scottsdale
Fashion Week proudly supports charities and is pleased
to work in cooperation with the Junior League of Phoenix
(www.jlp.org). The Junior League of Phoenix will receive
half of the proceeds from each VIP ticket sold to the
week’s events to support their mission—including early
childhood education and development, nonprofit &
leadership training, promoting voluntarism in the Valley
