Change by Masha Ellman

Life is an ever changing ever evolving process.  We are a part of this ever changing life and we should continuously strive to expand and deepen our own understanding of who we are, what we are and where we are within this vast experience of life.

Every single one of us can transform our life if we - want to.  Any change has to come from the inside of us.  When we are willing to shift our internal ground, we open ourselves up to operating on a much more expanded level.  We open our selves to living from a higher level of consciousness.

Some of us are happily stuck in our narrow self created views and proudly announce that we will be sixteen forever.  We condemn anyone who dares to tell us that we are limited minded.  We profess that we are happy just the way we are and we don’t need any change in our lives.  We continue to see ourselves and others from the same place and refuse to look beyond.  We happily stay stuck in the patterns and behaviors that we have accepted for ourselves.  We hold on to all of our old ways for dear life, and we see no need, have no desire, or want for change.

I love the story of the old beggar who sat at the edge of the road.  One day a young man came up to him and asked him what is in the box he was sitting on.  The old beggar answered, nothing, it’s empty and begged for a few pennies.  How do you know it’s empty, asked the young man, have you ever opened it and looked inside?  The old beggar replied, I don’t have to, I’ve been sitting on this box for the last thirty years and I know it’s empty.  The young man was insistent and told the old beggar that he will give him a few pennies if he opens the box and looks inside.  The old beggar reluctantly opened the box and to his amazement the box was filled with gold.

We cannot expand.  We cannot grow.  We cannot reach a higher vision for ourselves if we are not willing to step outside our set views.  When we are fearfully holding on to the old declaring that there is nothing more that we need to know that - we know it all.

Life itself is always growing, changing, and expanding of itself.  We are a part of the life process whether we believe it or not.  Accept it, or not.  Want it, or not.  Our goal should not be to live our life like the old beggar.  Our goal should be to live the most productive, fulfilling, and empowering life that we can.  Instead of settling in the old, I encourage you to embrace - change.

Many Blessings,

Masha
