Rejuvenate in January
 |
Once the initial
after-holiday let down has passed, January comes
along just in time to offer a time of pick-me-up
in the solitude of winter with the days once
again growing longer. There is almost a need to
cleanse, purify, re-group for the new year.
January is the perfect time for rejuvenation.
|
Rejuvenation can take
place in as many ways as there are individuals. For me
it’s picking up the slack in my yoga routine and diet,
both of which tend to suffer during the busy holiday
season. Cleaning out my closet is another.
After holiday-burnout,
heavy meals, parties, additional stress piled on from
the holidays caused by money spent and the hustle and
bustle, visiting relatives, and much needed time to
one’s self, taking a moment in January to kind of start
over is very important to our well-being.
New year’s resolutions
can provide inspiration but can also add pressure to
already mounting to-do lists. Better to just do better
and give yourself a welcome treat.
Ways to rejuvenate in
January might be to:
Retreat at home
Learn a yoga routine
Read a self-help book or
write in a journal
Do something you’ve never
done before
Implement wellness into
your life through diet and meditation.
Ask yourself how you
feel? What are your thoughts like? An act as simple as
becoming aware of thoughts cane rejuvenating by bringing
about a change of consciousness once negative thoughts
have been identified because then the next time they
occur, you are more likely to catch them and toss them
aside.
The problem with starting
anything new can be sticking to it, and anything new
also must fit into an already busy lifestyle and can be
why new year’s resolutions don’t always work. So it’s
not really about starting something new, but
implementing change into the lifestyle we already have,
refreshing what we already have, feeling new with it. So
pick your rejuvenation project and revel in the
opportunity to refresh and enhance your lifestyle.
