When most think of July, one thing comes to
mind-Independence Day. And it is great, fireworks,
grilling and lots of family fun. But in Sedona there is
reason to celebrate the entire month of July. There is
so much to do: Independence Day festivities, art gallery
tours, Sedona Film Festival premieres, artist
receptions, National Day of the Cowboy and more. Don’t
forget the beautiful natural scenery to explore, Red
Rock formations, Slide Rock State Park, Oak Creek Canyon
and the Grand Canyon. So take a trip to Sedona this July
because every day there is a reason to celebrate.
So a vacation to Sedona in July is planned, now it is
time to figure out what activities to do once in Red
Rock country. There are so many, that a little advance
planning goes a long way. One of the most popular
activities is a Jeep Tour. There are many to choose
from: vortex tours, sunset, vineyard, white knuckling
wild and every member of the family mild. Just get on
one because it really is one of the best ways to explore
Sedona’s Red Rocks. Want to explore those cowboy roots?
Simply hop on a horse and hit the trail. There are very
good guided tours and some that end with a campfire
cookout and wagon ride. Want to get wet and wild? Of
course there is white water rafting at the Grand Canyon
(just two hours from Sedona), but there is also kayaking
down the Verde Valley River just 20 minutes from Sedona.
The water to wine tour allows one to kayak down the
river to the Alcantara Vineyard. Once there one can
taste wines in the Tuscan style farmhouse. How about a
train ride? Relax on board and watch the spectacular
natural beauty pass by the window. Or venture out onto
the observation deck and get photos of a lifetime. Don’t
forget, Sedona also offers world-class golf, spas and
dining.
