Eastholme
in the Rockies Bed and Breakfast Formerly Known as "Eastholme
Hotel" - 2010 Marks 125th Anniversary

Cascade, Colorado, USA – The Eastholme in the
Rockies Bed and Breakfast of Cascade, Colorado, USA,
located at 4445 Hagerman Avenue, in Cascade, Colorado is
celebrating its 125th Anniversary.
About the Eastholme in the Rockies: Originally built as
the Eastholme Hotel in 1885 and listed on the National
Register of Historic Places in 1998 and designated a UTE
Pass landmark by the 1976 Bicentennial Committee.
Eastholme is the oldest of a group of resort hotels that
once flourished between scenic Manitou Springs and
Cripple Creek. Authentically restored and furnished with
period antiques, Eastholme was the sole recipient of the
Colorado’s Historical Preservation Award for 1989.
Eastholme was built by Eliza Marriott Hewlett, a wealthy
widow who migrated west from Schenectedy, New York with
her two sisters, Ellen and Caroline Marriott in the
early 1880’s. Hewlett astutely realizing the tourist
potential of the scenic Ute Pass region, constructed the
building as a resort hotel in 1885. Using craftsmen from
the Pikes Peak region, they built the eight gabled hotel
to reflect East Coast architecture and crowned their
achievement as Eastholme Hotel. Known then as Hurricane
Canyon and later renamed by Eliza as Cascade Canyon.
Today we know it as Cascade, Colorado.
Today, Eastholme in the Rockies Bed and Breakfast is an
elegant spacious six room Victorian bed and breakfast
including two cabin rentals. Offering guests all the
luxury and elegance of days past. A three course gourmet
breakfast is served daily in the original dining room.
