Add a little "Southwest" to Your Bath
with Some Sweet Medicine
by Cheryl BruedigamSweet
Medicine of Santa Fe Bath and Body Products
There are of course a
guizillion bath products on the market and it’s hard to
know what to choose to try, especially if purchasing
online, without being able to open, to smell, to sample.
A couple of reasons to
try the Sweet Medicine products, especially if you are a
fan of the Southwest (and I am assuming you are because
you are here reading this!) is that the Sweet Medicine
products will allow you if you live here to bring the
scents you love indoors to your own private bath or if
you do not live here but love the Southwest, they will
allow you to have little piece of the Southwest with you
no matter where you are. Another reason to try Sweet
Medicine is that they are 100% natural, hand-made
without chemicals and can do nothing but nurture your
body as only the earth may.
From the bath
collection, five salts are available and are created to
emulate the five elements in the ancient Chinese art of
Feng Shui. They are available in Love Bath, Joy Bath,
Wisdom Bath, Wealth Bath and Tranquility Bath. I
recently tried the Love and Enlightenment Bath Salts for
a relaxing and heavenly scented soak. Infused with
ginger, jasmine and rose, expect a pleasurable
experience. They are in a fine crystal form and are
easily added to the bath as the water is running,
requiring about two tablespoons per bath.
For beauty and
skin care, Sacred Beauty Grains are an exfoliant and
purifying mask gentle enough to use every day. The
experience is going to be a little different that what
you may be used to in a skin care product because it is
natural. The Sacred Beauty Grains are in a bottle but in
a powder form. Mixing with enough water to form a paste
in the palm of your hand, you will apply it to the skin.
If using as a cleanser then wash off immediately. If
using as a mask, allow to dry naturally, then cleanse
off. In trying the grains it took about two teaspoons to
make enough paste to cover the face. It felt different
at first but after cleansing, the skin felt especially
smooth, clean and tightened. Available in either a
relaxing lavender or a reviving peppermint scent. Made
from Anasazi Beans and Blue Corn, it is easy to imagine
an Anasazi woman of past gently caring for her skin in
the ancient world.
Many other products are
available from Sweet Medicine as well including buffs,
scrubs, and herbal bath teas. So if you’re looking for
safe, natural skin care or would like to feel that
feeling every morning of waking in the Southwest, try
some Sweet Medicine.
