From the Editor
October Greetings!

This is how many of me it took to get
everything done this month!
It's October at last, such an enjoyable and exciting
month in the southwest. Leaves are turning, skies
are blue, deep, crisp, and travel is fine. It is
the most beautiful times of the year to get out and
enjoy nature.
It has been both a challenging and satisfying month
since I last wrote in September. In addition to
the October issue, we have also put together our first
video segments, including Easing Your Wardrobe into
Fall, which I hope you will enjoy.
This month I am proud to introduce the photography of
my daughter, Sarah Bruedigam, of Muddy Shoes
Photography, which you will find in the piece, Try on
a Little Elegance this Halloween.
In fashion this month, Scottsdale Fashion Week is
counting down to it's start date November 4th and we
have a full piece on the headliners coming in.
Valley Vintage Fashion Show at the Hotel Valley Ho is
featuring the couture of Robert Black and offers a look
at some beautiful vintage clothing. We've got an
art to wear trunk show in Galveston; gemstones, boots
and makeup for fall, and as always, our featured Arizona
designer, so be sure to check out all of the exciting
articles in our fashion section.
We travel this month to the Ancient Way Festival in
the Zuni Mountains of New Mexico along the Ancient Way
Arts Trail. Sure to showcase some outstanding
Native American arts and crafts. Elsewhere in the
Southwest, arts and events are too numerous to mention
so be sure to check the articles and the calendar as you
will find plenty to get you out and about in October,
and before you go, cook up some pumpkin ravioli or
pumpkin bread, we've got recipes for each.
Discover the pain and triumphs of the Acosta family
of New Mexico, as Yolanda Acosta shares insights about
her new book, Acosta, an account of one of baseball's
beloved sons, her husband Oscar, and his tragic story.
In the Yoga Zone, find tips on the Passion of
Meditation, and lastly, travel to Bali with our very own
Kirstie Bender Segarra, full time faculty member at the
University of New Mexico-Taos, as she discovers the
meaning of “Tat Tvam Asi” with Balinese healer Puspa.
Anyway, that's a wrap for the October issue.
Please enjoy and thanks for stopping by.
