The Passion of Meditation
by Cheryl Yale-Bruedigam CYT - 240
Meditation is an ancient practice with many varied
teachings from all over the world. though not related to
any one religion, it can be spiritual in nature if
practiced with such intent. It can also be
successful if practiced with passion.
There are many works and teachers both ancient and
contemporary that refer to the ability to manifest
things we want in our lives through focus and
concentration and positive thought, such as the ancient
text of the Yoga Sutras by Patanjali, and more
recently, books like The Secret, or the teachings of Dr.
Wayne Dyer or Dr. Deepak Chopra and his CD audio, The
Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. All encourage us
to manifest daily that which we wish to attain through
positive thought. Meditation is one form of doing
this but in doing so, it must be heart-felt with
passion, which is the key to any of these afore
mentioned teachings, with passion and belief.
Mantras are one means of accomplishing this through
meditation; the repetition of a phrase of prayer over
and over, especially when performed in conjunction with
the use of prayer beads, turning one bead for each time
the mantra is said. And in doing so it can become
easy to slip off into the repetition, losing the intent
that should accompany it. The best way to maintain
the intent and passion is to stay completely in the
moment with all energy focused into the mantra, it's
meaning and the desirable outcome. Direct your
energy with focus and intent and you too will begin to
see results.
Below is a list of helpful tips on bringing passion
into your meditation:
Pray/meditate with passion, belief, intent;
don’t just go through the motions and say empty
words
