Great Daytime Smokey Makeup Look for Fall

Smokey looks are in this season, but what about daytime?  What are the best colors and blends to achieve a smokey daytime look without being overdone?

Start with a light blush contour in a medium bronze just beneath the cheekbone.  Dust above with a beautiful light plum.  Blend and powder.

For eyes:

First line eyes with a dark brown or gray eye pencil (black is too dark for day unless you have dark black hair).  Line lid and line beneath from the outer edge to where the pupil ends.  Smudge liner more than usual to get that smokey effect started.  If you have a plum-colred liner add a little for extra glow.

Using an eye-shadow brush apply a matte pink into inner half of lid and fading up into inner mid area between lid and brow.  Add a lighter matte gray or charcoal to the outer area above lid and ring down to outer edge of lid.  Blend.  Add a bit more pink to blend the two colors well.  Highlight to just beneath brow bone with a soft pale yellow.  No shimmers, save those for evening.

For lips - try something in a candied apple or cotton candy for a lighter lip to help set off the smokey eyes. Dot center of lip with a dap of white highlighter for that extra pout and shine.
