Sweet Medicine: Herbal Bath Teas Collection
Product Review by Cheryl Yale-Bruedigam

My package from Sweet Medicine could not have made a more timely arrival.  Having just completed my pre-holiday cleaning and rearranging, my body was tired, my muscles sore, and my back aching.  The herbal bath teas from Sweet Medicine of Santa Fe were just what my body needed.  My order included the muscle relaxing bath tea and the rejuvenating bath tea.

First I opted to try the rejuvenating bath tea.  According to Sweet Medicine's website, "This herbal combination will smooth, soothe and hydrate your skin keeping it youthful and supple. Botanicals include: Lavender, Peppermint, Rosemary, Rose and Comfrey misted with plant essences and essential oils." I was eager to try.  I knew the moment I opened the package with the return address from Santa Fe and caught the scents which had been trapped within, that I was in for a wonderfully relaxing treat.

"Wow," was my initial reaction as the bathtub filled with water coaxing the heady, relaxing aroma to envelop my body and senses. It was refreshing and renewing and once I began to bathe, using the bad itself as a scrub, I found it very invigorating. And though invigorating, it was also very relaxing at the same time and a cozy nap came easily after this bath.

As for the muscle relaxing bath tea, the Sweet Medicine website states, "This healing and soothing recipe relaxes sore strained muscles and eases inflammation from arthritis and rheumatism. Botanicals include: Agrimony, Burdock Root, Comfrey, Mugwort, White Sage and Sassafras Bark misted with plant essences and essential oils."  I waited until the next day for this recipe as after a heavy cleaning day such as I had spent, it is usually the following day when my body feels the most sore.  I was right to do so and was not disappointed.  And yet because of the muscle relaxing nature of this blend, taking away the pain, soreness and stiffness, I am able to say that it was also rejuvenating because once the pain and soreness were gone, I did indeed feel rejuvenated.

Also, with this particular blend as a bonus, I must add that my skin felt softer and smoother than ever, as if something it had been missing had been restored.

As a note, I would add that with the muscle-relaxing blend, you may want to schedule this as a separate bath from your regular bathing routine as the scent is more earthy and herbal.

Overall both blends were exceptional and would make an excellent gift for a friend this holiday season as well as to provide a wonderful soak after holiday cleaning or hectic shopping.
