Casa de Estrellas:
Award-winning Hollywood designer offers guests star-quality luxury
(Santa Fe, New
Mexico)
Armed with his
award-winning Neo-Nouveau style of interior and architectural
creation, Hollywood design artist Jay Payne has debuted an exquisite
new collection of luxury accommodations celebrating its grand
opening in Santa Fe: Casa de Estrellas (or House of the Stars),
uniquely decorated with Spanish, Tuscan, Moroccan, and Eastern
flavor.
Not since
Seret’s 1001 Nights (now dubbed the Inn of the Five Graces by its
new owners), the Santa Fe boutique hotel established by famed
designer and owner of Santa Fe’s Seret & Sons, Ira Seret (one of the
largest and most distinct collectors of Middle East and Asian
imports in the world), has anyone taken the appointment of luxury
accommodation to such a level of artistic mastery. With a
dream-like quality, old-world charm; yet elegant, light and airy;
these six upscale villas are indeed Payne’s personal masterpiece.

Given to such
influences including Seret himself, the musical relationships of
harmony and dissonance, metal sculpting, antiques and simplicity,
Payne has embedded the essence of the ultimate in luxury into his
one-of-a-kind apartment-type villas. A perfect example is
the Concerto #2 (there's that musical influence again) with its
front portico and back door to the courtyard and natural materials
that speak to you of Puerto Vallarta. Custom-made furnishings of
modern and classic style blend together creating an inviting
interior décor. Luxurious handmade tapestries from “Omar”, provide
the central seating, turning into an extra two-sleeper bed at
night. The bedroom is complete with antique furnishings and plush
fabrics. A hand carved, travertine sink sits on porcelain tile as
the bath invites you to stay while reading the wall paper collage of
original magazines from the building's construction. A gourmet
kitchen provides a place to prepare simple meals or cook for
friends.

The Kamasutra,
Payne’s most luxurious, is a two-story, two-bedroom villa with
gourmet kitchen and separate dining and living area. Designed like
a modern Manhattan town-home, hand- troweled plaster walls change
colors as you walk from room to room, totaling twelve different
shades. A gas fireplace and an antique writing desk make for the
perfect reflective escape. An open kitchen/bar flows into the
living room where an entertainment center hides inside a lacquered
antique Chinese armoire. Hand-carved columns wind up to two finely
furnished bedrooms. A handmade concrete tub and steam sooth tired
muscles from a day of Santa Fe sightseeing. The master suite with
an eastern king bed is a delight with antique furnishings and
hand-carved panels from India, China and Nepal. The second bedroom
suite with an eastern king bed is decorated with Chinese antique
furnishings, including a Buddha-carved headboard and bath with
concrete shower.
These are just
two examples of Payne’s intricately detailed work on a total of six
absolutely stunning decors. And not only are the accommodations
luxurious but the amenities and services are as well. Discerning
guests may benefit from a butler service that will do everything
from unpacking to drawing a scented bubble-bath. A concierge
service provides assistance with arrangements for fine dining, art
galleries, live music, recreation, or any of Santa Fe’s many
exciting activities and entertainment.
It is evident
in these creations that Payne’s touch has indeed showcased his
talent; a talent that has worked with many of noted fame including
Stallone, Prince, Whoopie, Richard Dreyfuss and others, and after
seeing and experiencing these villas, which truly culminate the
House of Stars, it is easy to see why these, and others, would so
highly value his work. Guests will value it equally in this Casa de
Estrellas, designed especially for them.
