Tlaquepaque Festival of Lights to
Take Place on December 8

A cherished holiday tradition of music and the public
lighting of 6,000 luminarias will set the courtyards and
walkways of Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village aglow in
a warm, festive light on Saturday,
December8, during the 34th annual Festival of Lights.
A variety of entertainment including performances by
carolers, musicians, and an appearance by Santa Claus
will be held at this free community event from 3 to 8
p.m.
"This is a favorite event in which the entire family can
participate," said Wendy Lippman, Tlaquepaque General
Manager and Resident Partner. "There is something
special that really brings everyone into the holiday
spirit when the community comes out and helps light the
candles."
Returning again this year for the Festival is the
critically acclaimed River of Life Tabernacle Choir from
Phoenix. This group of more than 100 singers and
musicians from diverse backgrounds has had incredible
exposure over the years, playing for Senator John McCain
as well as performing with the Judds and Reba McEntire.
Tlaquepaque is extending the Luminarias activities by
adding a special concert on Friday featuring Brian Pace
and Ron Tolson, lead singers from the River of Life
Tabernacle Choir. They will be playing piano and singing
classical hymns and holiday music in the Tlaquepaque
Chapel on Friday, December 7 from 3 to 7 p.m.
On Saturday, December8, Patio del Norte will again have
specially designated luminarias honoring cancer
survivors, victims and families. Each luminaria can be
personalized by the donor for a $10 donation, which will
go directly to the American Cancer Society.
The restaurants at Tlaquepaque – Secret Garden Cafe, Oak
Creek Brewery and Grill, Rene, and El Rincon Mexican
Restaurant – will be serving throughout both days and
reservations are highly recommended. All of
the shops and galleries will be open until 8 p.m. on
Saturday evening.
Sedona Trolley will provide free shuttle service every
15 minutes from 3 to 8 p.m. with pick-up and drop-off in
the Uptown Municipal Parking Lot at Apple and Jordan,
one block from Highway 89A.
The Art and Soul of Sedona, Tlaquepaque is the home to
more than 40 shops and galleries and four restaurants,
visited by more than one million tourists each year. For
