"Using Organic Gardening as a Medium for Creative and Spiritual Growth"

The source of creativity and how to reveal it. Soil/Soul building. Why organic?
How sustainability is part of meaningful gardening. Composting. Companion
planting/intensive intercropping. Mulching. Permaculture and Xeriscape.
Action-Meditation. The importance of creative garden journaling.
LUNCH BREAK 11 – 1
1 pm - 3 pm
Hands-on soil building. Plant propagation. Creative planting techniques. Living
designs.

Tuesday, July 26
"Creative Garden Design as an Integral Part of Spiritual Growth"
9:30 am - 11 am
True Planning and Inspiration. Principles of garden design. The importance of
plant response
to garden aesthetics. How to work with rock, stone, and cement. Rockwall raised
beds.
How to make trellises patios, pools and ponds.
LUNCH BREAK 11 – 1
1 pm -3 pm
Hands on rock wall building, creating pathways with cement.
Sand castings - create a bird bath or feeder that you can take home!

Thursday, July 28
Straw Bales Walls - "Creating Sacred Spaces within Enclosed Gardens"
9:30 am - 11 am
The importance and practicality of intimacy. Techniques of enclosure and design.
Straw bale walls and creative fences. Stucco and cement walls simplified.
LUNCH BREAK 11 – 1
1 pm - 3 pm
Construction techniques. Hands on Straw bale foundation/wall building.

FRIDAY, July 29
"Labyrinths and the Importance of Using Ritual as a Technique for
Spiritual Growth and Evaluation"
9:30 am - 11 am
Labyrinths and their meanings. History and evolution of labyrinths. Labyrinth
Designs and how to make them. Balancing right/left brain functions.
LUNCH BREAK 11 – 1
1 pm - 3 pm
Labyrinth walk/guided meditation. Private time walking the Labyrinth,
reflection,
and journal writing. Group sharing, personal experiences, journals, ideas, and
reflections.

These workshops are part of a week long event, but each may be attended as a day
workshop for $25 per person, which includes lunch. Bring water, a hat, and
gloves for the hands-on sessions.
