From the EditorSpring Greetings from the Southwest!
May is a beautiful time here. Although our weather begins
warming up as early as March and April, May brings a consistency in
temperatures and sunshine that is much welcomed after winter's
chill. Flowers abound, the trees are leafed out and all is
renewed in the desert southwest. We are packing away our
heavies (but never our sweaters, we need those on our cool spring
and summer nights). Menus turn to lighter fare as seasonal
fruits and vegetables begin to reappear. The swallows have
returned and we know it is spring.
This month's issue of Southwest Flair is full of enjoyable
articles, beautiful photos and lots of informative pieces about
living in or visiting the southwest. To celebrate Mother's
Day, we're featuring a special Mother/daughter bonding package
you're sure to enjoy or if you can't get to Arizona, keep a bit of
it at home by creating your own special mother/daughter weekend.
We are also providing a close-up look at shopping in Scottsdale, the
perfect place to get out and enjoy beautiful weather, shop the day
away and stop for a luncheon. We continue our look at
southwest spas and bring you some unique treatments and ideas.
In home and garden this month, we are
shown how to fix those nasty decorating mistakes in Carol Olmstead's
article on Feng Shui. Moving outdoors, we learn about creating
a private meditation garden where peace, beauty and serenity are
part of nature's order.
As a special inclusion this month,
Dr. Suzanne Lopez talks about her book and workshops on getting
smart with your heart. Lopez has just recently relocated to
Albuquerque where her workshops and dynamic lectures may be
attended.
All in all, this is a most enjoyable
issue. We invite you to browse and read everything we have
available for you.
Thanks for stopping in!
