Even
with so many other diversions to choose from, shopping still ranks
at the top of activities visitors to Scottsdale look forward to
indulging in, and who can blame them. Scottsdale is a shopper's
paradise with a special flair for objects that echo the city's
unique Southwestern heritage, with everything from one-of-a-kind
tribal objects to the latest trends from noted designers. Here, no
one need go away empty-handed.

District wow everyone from bauble browser to serious collector with
a vast array of galleries and collectible shops. Extreme shoppers

Shopper's Oasis
In
Scottsdale, shopping has been refined to an art. This is evidenced
not only by the exquisite, eclectic array of items to be had, but by
the exciting ambiance of the shopping destinations themselves.
Recreating the refined, rustic flavor of a medieval Italian village,
The Borgata is one such destination unto itself, featuring 40
boutiques, outdoor cafes and restaurants. Visitors are charmed by
the "Old World" courtyard atmosphere. Arizona-owned stores include
Two Plates Full, Sherre’s, Femme de Paris and James Elliott.
Centrally-located Hilton Village offers a casual shopping
experience with several “must see” stores including Mackie’s
Parlour, featuring a whimsical collection of pet necessities and
Essentials and More, offering one of a kind body products and
gifts for men, women and children.
Fusing a Moroccan and Southwest aesthetic, el Pedregal Festival
Marketplace is the perfect complement to Scottsdale's
sun-drenched lifestyle. Here, unique shops, special events and The
Heard Museum North, an expansion site of the world-renowned
Heard Museum, draw visitors and locals alike. A beautiful outdoor
setting, not to mention a splendid array of specialty shops and
restaurants, make the Shops at Gainey Village a coveted
shopping experience. Boasting one-of-a-kind boutiques Bella
Dimora, featuring home accents for bed, bath and kitchen, it is
one of Scottsdale's premiere shopping addresses. Rounding out the
collection is Kierland Commons, an upscale Main Street
lifestyle center that artfully blends retail shopping, dining,
entertainment and office space with urban residential living. Of
the 70 high-end specialty retailers are favorite local concepts such
as Jennifer Croll, Mahsa, 42 Saint and Agata.
Platinum Paradise
With
Scottsdale's affluent appeal, it is no surprise that amidst the posh
resorts and showcase homes can be found some of the most polished
storefronts in the region. For lovers of all things equestrian,
The Pampered Horse and Rider offers apparel and horse and riding
accessories. For tailored toddlers, Baby Couture and
Caviar Kids sell European fashions for children three months to
six years old. Belly Boutique features upscale fashionable
items for those trying to keep on top of trends when it comes to
dressing the mom-to-be.
Fashion of every stripe also is available for men, ranging from the
rugged, Southwestern-flavored clothing offered at Arizona
Pendleton (their legendary wool Indian blankets are worth the
trip alone), to the tailored
styles offered at Brooks Brothers. And for the home,
Bradbury Antiques tempts with antiques, silver,
jewelry, unique Victorian décor and vintage clothing set in an
exclusive ambiance that includes the civilized touch of a tea room.

vibrant historical center of the city, downtown Scottsdale, lends a
unique character and flavor to any shopping foray. With more than
500 one-of-a-kind specialty shops and boutiques, art galleries,

to do anything from buying Western wear to indulging in a
multi-course meal. Items that fall into the “must have” category
include handcrafted boots, artful Cosanti wind bells (made just a
few miles away at the Cosanti Foundation) and Native American
crafts such as concha belts and fetishes. Serious shoppers and
browsers alike will find these items and much more in noteworthy
shops including Saba's Western Stores, Bishoff's,
Atkinson's Indian Trading Post and Gilbert Ortega Indian
Jewelry.
Mixing the past and present with style, Old Town does indeed include
many historical establishments, such as the frontier-era Rusty
Spur Saloon and Cavalliere's Blacksmith Shop. But turning
the block, a visitor can fast forward to today's most desirable
artistic accents, such as Fifth Avenue Shopping District’s
Southwestern treasures and the Marshall Way Contemporary Arts
District’s wide palette of media, from handcrafted wearable art to
limited-edition prints and unique collector's pieces. And when the
