Holiday Small Works Show begins December 1
As has become tradition here during the holiday season, the galleries in
the Scottsdale Arts District are hosting their Holiday Shows on the same
date, Thursday, December 1st. More than 40 galleries have come together
to host their individual Holiday Shows featuring everything from
traditional fine art, contemporary and abstract art to Native American
pottery, glasswork, jewelry, Persian miniatures, artifacts and much
more. Each gallery will feature artwork created by artists they
represent.
The galleries in the Arts District of Old Town Scottsdale maintain a
reputation as some of the foremost in the country as well as boasting
international acclaim. The excellence of artwork shown here and the
variety offered in such a small district gives these galleries a well
deserved reputation as a destination to visit. Nearly every genre of art
is available somewhere within the Arts District. Most of the biggest
names in the American art scene are represented here as well as local,
international and up-and-coming artists.

Grant Ferguson
brings back rock guitar prowess.
Rock guitar's
glory years are about to roll again in the
talented hands of Arizona’s own break-out
artist, Grant Ferguson. Smack dab in the middle
of a successful banking career, Ferguson cut the
corporate ties, went back to his first love
(music emanating from a Stratocaster) and cut a
potent new CD, Decay & Devotion (Melodik
Records), that will soon turn heads coast to
coast. Phoenix gets its first taste when
Ferguson’s power trio tops the bill at Hard Rock
Café next month! |
 |
Guitar aficionados will want to catch Grant Ferguson’s new tunes live
and in person when his official CD release party rocks Phoenix’s Hard
Rock Café (3 South 2nd Street) on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 8pm. Joining him
onstage will be another hot and unconventional Valley band, Urban
Strings, an all-girl group that evolved out of a classical string
quartet background into an electric entourage playing rock tunes on
bodiless violins and cellos. Tickets available at the door or online at
www.ticketweb.com . Call Hard
Rock Phoenix at 602-261-7625 for directions.

Super Stereo goes back into the lab
Tempe Electro Band Plays Preps For Version 2.0

It's been a year since Super Stereo threw their record deal signing
party at the Rhythm Room, and what a year it's been. It's time for a
little reflection as the band looks to the future of Futurepop.
It started with a major MTV video filmed in NYC, then they made the
cover of Echo Mag. As their video climbed and stayed in the top of the
MTV charts, PM Nightly and the gang were becoming ubiquitous on the live
music circuit.
Pretty soon, multiple songs from their debut record This Is Futurepop
aired on major TV shows (i.e. Parks and Recreation, Keeping Up With The
Kardashians, The Real L Word, Bones, and Rizzoli and Isles). Then, for
the entire back-to-school season, the video for Super Stereo's single
“Life Passed Me By” was playing every hour in juniors' departments of
Macy's across the U.S.
After a highly active few months, including a recent performance at the
annual Rainbows Festival, the band is looking forward to prepping a new
show for the die-hard fans and should be announcing special one-off
sneak peeks through the end of the year.
Stay informed about show dates and happenings on the band's website, or
join SuperU to have updates delivered directly to your inbox.
